Stewards of Capital

Siddhant Sanjay Shah

Siddhant Sanjay Shah

PARTNER, CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER

Representing the third generation of KBS Group, Siddhant has led the company’s strategic diversification beyond diamonds and jewellery. He established KBS Fortunes in 2017 and oversees the company's capital allocation activities across public and private markets. His responsibility extends beyond identifying investment opportunities; it is to ensure that every allocation of capital reflects the principles of stewardship, discipline, and independent judgement upon which the firm was established.

His approach to investing is founded on a simple belief: capital is a responsibility before it is an opportunity. He believes that thoughtful capital allocation begins with protecting what has been entrusted, identifying asymmetric opportunities and partnering with exceptional people capable of building enduring institutions. He believes successful investing is less about predicting outcomes than about consistently making rational decisions under uncertainty, underwriting downside risk with discipline, and allowing time to become an ally once conviction has been established.

While leading the investment arm of KBS Group is his core responsibility, he has a strong appreciation for craftsmanship – as a Partner of KBS Group, Siddhant maintains strategic oversight over the diamond and jewellery business, a trade he trained in before embarking on his investment journey.

Siddhant earned a degree in Economics and Finance from Bentley University before joining a New York-based long-short equity investment fund seeded by Tiger Global as a Senior Analyst. He worked directly alongside the Founder and Chief Investment Officer focusing solely on fundamental investment research across global public markets, evaluating opportunities on both the long and short sides of the portfolio across a broad range of sectors. The experience reinforced the importance of rigorous research, intellectual honesty, and disciplined underwriting.

Most of his philosophy has been shaped by the example of his late father, Sanjaybhai Kanubhai Shah, whose belief that great businesses are not transactional, but built over time through trust, consistency, and relationships. This continues to influence the way he thinks about capital allocation, partnerships, and stewardship.

Beyond investing, Siddhant is also deeply committed to philanthropy. He recently supported the establishment of the Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Centre at Gujarat Cancer Society (GCS) in Ahmedabad, in memory of his father, and has since been appointed to the GCS Advisory Board.

He is also deeply interested in founder-led watchmaking maisons, Indian classical music, literature, and is an oenophile. These pursuits that reflect his appreciation for provenance, patience, refinement, and legacy.

VICE PRESIDENT - INVESTMENTS

Sarah brings over a decade of financial services experience across global markets, with a sharp eye for businesses that others haven't yet noticed.

Since joining KBS Fortunes in 2024, she has focused on investment evaluation, sector research, and portfolio allocation — with a particular interest in innovative small and mid-cap companies at the frontier of India's growth story. Before KBS Fortunes, Sarah was Vice President – Investments at Peak Sustainability Ventures, where she led deals across sustainability-focused startups globally. She helped develop Peak's research across Energy Storage, Hydrogen, Green Buildings, and Plastics, and actively led investments in each of these areas — from pipeline and evaluation through to execution and partnerships.

Prior to Peak, she worked as a Manager at Ernst & Young London in the Financial Services Consulting practice, specialising in governance, risk and controls. At EY, she worked with leading Wealth and Asset Managers to identify improvement opportunities in their investment processes, business functions and risk management frameworks.

Sarah holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics with Management and Finance from King's College London. She is a CFA charterholder and holds a Certificate in ESG Investing from the CFA Institute.

When she's not at her desk, Sarah’s chasing adventure — travelling off the beaten path, scuba diving, scaling trails, and delighting in culinary and wine experiences. She also enjoys running, swimming, and training at the gym, which she does with the same consistency that she brings to her work: showing up, putting in the effort, and playing the long game.
